The Back to School Rally is one Defender Faith Center's yearly events designed to impact our community and meet the need of our neighborhood. The purpose of this event is to provide our community much needed essentials to start the school year off right, such as free food, free haircuts, free gift cards, free grocery baskets, free clothing (new or gently used), free coats and shoes, and free gifts and prizes. Most importantly, however, we provide free school supplies such as notebooks, book bags, crayons, pencils, pens, loose leaf paper, glue, scissors, erasers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, dry erase markers, pencil boxes and high lighters. We firmly believe in the importance of education for our children and acknowledge the need in our community. Therefore, every August since 2006, we are compelled as a local nonprofit organization to do our part in helping our local families get a good start each school year. By providing these needed supplies we alleviate some of the pressures that most of our parents face when providing additional essentials to their children each school year. We also ensure that our children get the best start possible when beginning their academic journey. It takes a village to raise a child and every little bit counts for a lot. Therefore, we must all do what we can to help one another. Our Back to School Rally has become a key element to providing the support our community needs to begin the school year efficiently.
